The Frankie Toque is a ribbed-style beanie with a turned-up brim. It has funky decreases that make this hat immediately identifiable and super unique. Frankly, you’ll turn heads, in a good way.

Baby (Toddler, Child) [Tween, Adult, Large Adult]

Finished Measurements

Circumference = 11 (13, 13.5) [15, 17, 18.5] inches/28 (33, 34.5) [38, 43, 47] cm

Height (brim unfolded) = 8 (8.75, 9.75) [10.75, 12, 13.25] inches/20.5 (22, 25) [27.5, 30.5, 33.5] cm

Gauge

20 STS and 20 ROWS/RNDS in 1x1 Rib Stitch = 4x4 inches / 10x10 cm

Suggested Needles and Notions

16 inch/40 cm 6.5mm (US 10.5) circular needles.

Five 6.5mm (US 10.5) DPNS.

Or alternative needle sizes to obtain gauge.

Magic Loop can be used to knit small circumferences in-the-round as an alternative to DPNS.

You’ll also need stitch markers, a locking stitch marker and a darning needle to complete this design. A row counter is an optional extra.

Suggested materials

1 strand of Custom Woolen Mills 2-ply Mule Spinner yarn (4 oz/112 g = 216 yd/198 m), held together with 2 strands of Laceweight Mohair (1 oz/25 g = 230 yd/210 m).

Or 1 strand of a Light to Medium weight yarn (DK, Light Worsted, Worsted or Aran), held together with mohair or Suri Alpaca.

Note that yardage requirements will change if using only 1 strand of mohair or alpaca.
