Roulé Hat Knitting Pattern

Roulé Hat Knitting Pattern
This listing is for the original Olann knitting pattern for the Roulé Hat, designed in collaboration with @mergegoods and @cristinagareau. This knitting pattern was created and written by Olann. Note that the Roulé Sweater Knitting Pattern is also available to purchase.
Roulé in French means “rolled”. This design is an ode to softness, to roundness, to turning inwards for reflection and embracing life in all its curvature.
The Roulé Hat is knit as a long tube, and is designed to be rolled up to your desired length. It is shaped with decreases to form the crown of the head, and topped with an I-cord nib, for extra pizzazz.

Yardage
Approximately 193 (237, 288) yd/176 (217, 263) m worsted weight mohair.
A note on yardage: 2 balls of the recommended yarn, Katia Ingenua, are enough to knit any of the three sizes offered for the Roulé Hat. You will hold 3 strands of yarn at the same time. To use 2 balls of yarn, pull a strand of yarn from the centre and outside of the first ball of yarn, and hold together with one strand of yarn from the second ball. Work until you have completed approximately half of the hat. Then switch, and pull a strand of yarn from the centre and outside of the second ball, and hold together with one strand of yarn from the first ball. This should allow you to complete your hat using only 2 balls of yarn.
If you buy a yarn kit from my website to knit your hat, it will contain 2 balls of yarn, to make it more economical to purchase. If you’d prefer to simply hold 3 strands of yarn from 3 balls of yarn, then please add a third single ball of yarn to your order.
Suggested materials
Three strands of Katia Ingenua (1.75 oz/50 g = 153 yd/140 m) held together.
Yarn substitutions can include any other weight fluffy or brushed yarn, held together to get gauge, including mohair, wool, alpaca and silk. Note that depending on the yarn you chose, you may hold fewer or more strands together to get gauge.
